  • Overview

    The Financial Wellness Advocate is an enthusiastic visionary responsible for the development of large-scale initiatives intended to educate, motivate and engage clients and their employee in all aspects of health and well-being with a passion for Financial Wellness.  He or she works strategically with clients to promote a culture of wellness by identifying specific health and wellness goals in order to develop, implement, and maintain programs with a special focus in the area of Financial Wellness. Through the creation and oversight of these programs, the Financial Wellness Advocate educates clients on how to Minimize Risk and Maximize Health within their own organizations. 

    Responsibilities

    WELLNESS

    • Responsible for executing and delivering the financial wellness service platform to Assurance clients
    • Provides education and training support for our employer groups (seminars, webinars, one-on-one) on various wellness topics but will focus primarily on financial wellness
    • Collaborates with clients to develop year-long strategies to bring financial wellness solutions to employees
    • Contributes to the Wellness team’s overall revenue goals by obtaining consulting agreements with clients
    • Oversees development of clients’ overall health & wellbeing programs
    • Provides strategic wellness plans and timelines for clients
    • Develops presentations and wellness collateral that drive employee engagement and satisfaction
    • Works with service teams to create and assist in annual planning and implementing strategies
    • Collaborates with other departments to uncover areas of risk related to medical and Rx claims, workers compensation losses, and utilization and to incorporate into overall wellness strategy
    • Identifies opportunities across the Risk Services team to create alignment, refer services, and utilize resources
    • Drives efficiency and value through wellness programs, consulting and execution
    • Serves as a mentor to Wellness Coordinator
    • Provides regular onsite support and attendance at client meetings and events
    • Maintains insurance carrier and wellness vendor relationships to understand wellness services/resources offered to mutual clients
    • Maintains 401(k) & 403(b) provider relationships to understand financial wellness services/resources offered to mutual clients
    • Assists in the customization and dissemination of various communication campaigns to clients
    • Takes initiative to research and learn new projects
    • Is familiar with and follows agency procedures
    • Performs related duties as necessary or assigned

     

    EXECUTION OF CLIENT SERVICE

    • Supports Assurance Financial Services (AFS) with the execution of financial wellness services to AFS clients
    • Works with Producers and/or Account Executives, service team and other internal departments to plan, execute and track customized service strategy for each client, designed to create value and efficiencies in their business
    • Manages creation of service plan and other specific deliverables designed to support clients in making decisions about health and well-being programs.
    • Builds personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication such as phone, email, and in-person meetings
    • Manages time effectively to prioritize workload and service parameters on business processes
    • Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms, program options and other items to client as needed.

     

    THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

    • Operates as the agency technical expert in the area of Financial Wellness advocacy services
    • Serves as a wellness knowledge resource directly with clients or internal teams
    • Is deeply and broadly involved in the industry through participation in external associations and events; forming and growing relationships with insurance carriers & wellness vendors; and understanding the capabilities of our competitors
    • Designs, develops and implements effective workplace wellness programs for Assurance clients, tailored to meet and/or exceed customer expectations while keeping within the broader corporate policies
    • Manages and directs the execution of wellness plans
    • Creates and implements program assessments with analytics to measure key wellness metrics in order to evaluate client program progress and ensure that objectives are met
    • Integrates the corporate wellness vision with the desire to help clients achieve an optimum level of health through ongoing customized wellness/health/preventive education activities
    • Meets or exceeds established wellness performance metrics as evaluated by the Wellness Manager
    • Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and/or represent to external individuals and/or programs

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • 2+ years of wellness consulting experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Public speaking experience

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Financial background/experience
    • Series 6, 66 or 63/65 licensed
    • Producers License for Life/Health
    • BS/BA in fitness, nursing, exercise, or related health/wellness field
    • Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist (CWWS) or Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager (CWWPM)
