  • Overview

    The Account Manager ensures each project and client service deliverable is executed flawlessly.  He or she has the knowledge, drive and ability to manage a book of business and consult with Assurance Financial Services’ (AFS) clients to effectively manage their employer-sponsored retirement program(s). The Account Manager is integral in retaining clients by working with the full-service team to plan and execute a customized client service plan. Additionally, they’ll build effective working relationships with each client and prospect.  He or she has an understanding of the marketplace and takes initiative to remain current on industry and market issues. The Account Manager mentors his/her service team and establishes strong effective working relationships within the company and helps to create efficiencies and improvements in the team and the organization. 

    Responsibilities

    EXECUTION OF CLIENT SERVICE

    • Ensures that all proposals include service strategies, commitment reports and other specific exhibits as per Assurance best practices
    • Works with Retirement Plan Consultant(s), service team, and other internal departments to successfully execute AFS’s service strategy
    • Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and that the client’s needs are handled quickly and effectively
    • Leverages employer-sponsored retirement plan knowledge and communication skills to explain plan design, platform/program options, ERISA regulations and other issues to clients as needed
    • Manages time effectively to ensure workload is prioritized, client needs are addressed and Assurance’s expectations on client service and business process are met

     

    DATA INTEGRITY AND PROCESS QUALITY

    • Maintains accurate and complete client data in applicable agency management systems as well as any AFS external management systems
    • Achieves data integrity consistently and meets activity timeliness, quality metrics and goals
    • Follows processes and procedures in servicing workflow, maintaining appropriate and clear documentation of client and provider conversations, taking appropriate action, and following up as requested
    • Utilizes internal resources for identified processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in execution

     

    Relationship managment AND Provider partnership

    • Works with service team to effectively manage and oversee new business and client/plan review process following AFS best practices and guidelines
    • Proactively evaluates plan design and remains current on industry trends and legislation
    • Follows up with platform provider relationship managers on renegotiated fee structures and plan design amendments
    • Builds positive working relationships with platform providers relationship managers, attends meetings and events as appropriate and proactively learns about their platforms and service offerings
    • Maintains positive working relationships with clients, attends client as well as prospective client meetings and events as appropriate

     

    PEER RELATIONSHIPS AND SELF-DEVELOPMENT

    • Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with service team to discuss accounts, plan transitions, day to day service needs, service platform, etc.
    • Trains, guides and mentors peers as needed
    • Communicates effectively with team and provides timely and complete information to allow them to efficiently manage their processes and workload
    • Creates successful and effective working relationships with Retirement Plan Consultants, other service team members, managers, platform providers, relationship managers and employees in other agency departments
    • Participates in seminars, classes and webinars for skill and knowledge development

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Producers License (in state of residence) for Life/Health
    • 2+ years Account Manager experience servicing/supporting employer-sponsored retirement plans

     

    PREFERRED:

    • BS/BA in Business, Insurance or related field
    • Intermediate or advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Embodies Assurance’s 11 Best & Brightest Characteristics
    • Series 6 and 66 (or Series 63 & 65) & good standing with FINRA
    • Industry specific professional designations (e.g. CRPS, AIF, CPFA)
